And finally...

added the rest of the magazine features, and just about everything(no definatly everything)that the contents page will contain! i think now i have final versions of all three i will do a focus group asking for critisisms and tweaking to please and finally, handing in all the completed versions!

added a website url to the bottom, page number and a paragraph for the main feature, with a title. MORE TO COME!!

Adding the band index.

This ive added all the bands that the magazine will feature, which was a challenge on its own, running out of band names after about page 5! more content to be added next!

Starting over...

This was just getting the layout right that i wanted, so like i said i wanted the images in the centre with the magazine content and page numbers on either side. ive also added a red box at thge bottom which will be a suscribe to the magazine add, and two images in the bottom right which are previews of the free posters.
Next would to actually put the bands and content on there.

This was my original idea for a layout, but being a first class muppet i only saved it as a JPEG...
i want the image in the middle of the magazine i know that much, and a big this week on the top, further experimentation to come

Research for Contents page

Mag front cover change

Well because of the middlespread i felt that the front cover no longer matched and would really annoy me if it was left the same, so i have merged two images together (one of the lead singer and one of the lead guitarist) taken at the Bolton soundhouse gig, and it has replaced the old main image, the old main image is now the free poster image. Hope you like it, i do! Its a good shot and matches the magazine content well

This is it, its the final and im very pleased with it! Ive brightened up the image in photoshop and added a transparent text underlay so the text can be read clearly, its quite fantastic!

OH MY GOD WE HAVE A MIDDLE SPREAD

What a difference a day makes! I finished off on the alternitive yesterday and went away, came back today inspired to make this middle spread good! It worked, i think...
I took the old layout and put in the edited image from the new layout, put them together, made the titles bigger and more eye catching, and what do you know, i love it, people ive asked love it, better than all the others at least. So just some minor changes to this baby and it will be done!

Damn opinions! ive changed the style of the mag as people just wasnt impressed with them and i agree with their opinions, it just didnt look impressive, so im trying to have just one big image, which ive had pointed out to me that this version would fail because her face would be cut in half!This is just experimenting with layouts, i do like the image though, BIG BOLD AND IMPRESSIVE...

An actual write up!

The souljaboy lyrics are now gone and in their place is the gig review for Bolton soundhouse along with a quote! The font for the band names also been changed to the house style font of Myrid Pro, i dont think the title is big enough at the moment, next it is to come under the test of public opinion, OH NO! Im relitively happy with it but i cant place my finger on what i want improved, so some constructive critisism will help LOTS!

Breaking News!

Version 1.3 has arrived, changed titles, text size and added a quote. This still isnt finished, need to do the actual write up because its just souljaboy lyrics at the moment to make it seem real! i think that job is next.

Magazine Middle page, progress report!

I think ive settled on a format to use, i will hopefully keep these images, and text in the same place just not sure about the titles at the moment. so this is version 1.2 more updates to follow!

Just experimenting with image layout, trying out the best images in different places, i like the idea of one big image then a smaller on the other page. Also added abit of text, again experimenting

I quite like the idea of having most text in one area with big main images as the background, this would be something id like to try with my middle page spread.

Again i like the way the main image is unchallenged and uncluttered by text, this being something i like to do in my own work, Also the text being contained in a certain area.

Next would be to carry out the second photoshoot for the middle page spread which will focus on them being at Bolton Soundhouse for a gig.

Final Magazine Cover!! (and happy with it

Ive added the finishing touches to this magazine, editing the tare more for a more realistic effect and making tiny tweaks to positioning of shapes and so on. Im happy with this magazine and have asked for opinions with all being positive so yeah, its all done and im a happy bunny.

Magazine cover 5 (starting to take shape)

I have added more images in the format of polaroid images, and moved some of the titles, i think i need to make small changes from here, again my image has been changed, this is my favourite image from the shoot but because it was taken in landscape i didnt think i would be able to use it

To be able to use it i have had to extend the background of the shot by using the background from another and removing the original, then by adding another banner to the bottom in the theme of bubbles (to match the title) But i am not keen on the bottom banner, and might experiment with something else.
