Front Cover

Last week i finished my front cover, see what you think. I'm pleased with the way it looks but if you have any suggestions of how i could change it and make it better let me know!

First photoshoot

Yesterday I did the photoshoot with my main model Andy, and I'm really pleased with some of the shots, especially the outdoor ones. I have decided on the shots I want to use for the cover and the two page spread and hopefully will be taking the photos for the contents page with my other model next week sometime.

Even more research

On wednesday I went up to the park to take some location photos for my two page spread. Found quite a few places I like the look of for the shots so now I have more of an idea about how I want my two page spread to look. Here's the places I'm most likely to use...
















I've also booked a camera and the studio for Tuesday next week to do the shoot with my main model.

More Research

Over half term I have visited one of my two models, Andy, to have a look through his wardrobe to pick out a couple of outfits for him to wear for the photoshoot so that we could get the right look. I am going to use the shots of Andy for my front cover and two page spread, the clothes we have picked are quite plain and include a simple black t-shirt, a blue checked hoody and a leather jacket along with other items. I am planning on taking the front cover shots in the media studio on a plain white background and some of the two page spread shots out at a location.
I am planning to see my contents page model, Chris, at some point in the next week to pick out an outfit for him to wear but I haven't decided on the location of the shoot but I know I won't need the studio for these shots.

Research

Above are my two pages of research I have done for my final coursework piece of a music magazine. I am planning for my magazine to be similar to both Q and Kerrang! magazine. I prefer the layout of the front cover and contents page of Q but prefer the layout of the 2 page spread from Kerrang!
I prefer the front cover and contents page from Q because the pages have less on them so don't seem as busy to look at and are quite simplistic but I prefer the style of the 2 page spread in Kerrang! because the text stands out more and it seems clearer to read as each pice seems separate.
