Nickleback
The Nickleback shoots follow a trend of being a bit de-saturated, in grimy locations, this being typical for a rock bands photo shoots same for metal bands too. Analysing the photos further the lead singer is always the closest or most central figure, and in some shots the band are wearing the same colours to keep to the colour scheme of the shoot in one the lead singer is wearing white while the others wearing black, this making him stand out and focusing your attention on him more than anyone else.
Fallout Boy
Fallout Boy is an American Punk/alternative band, and their photos are again washed out and in grimy locations. The thing which is strange about this band is that their lead singer is not the central figure but the bassist is, for the reason that he is the best looking.
Coldplay
Again they use urban grimy locations and de-saturated images, with this band being fond of antique style images; the middle shot is my favourite again for the composure and angle which isn’t your generic band shot.
Arctic Monkeys
This being an indie British band, again the shoots follow the conventions of grimy locations and some de-saturation but on the whole they are more colourful images. I like the shot on the right as i think it has great composure, perspective and angle
Conclusion
That bands of these genres fit a mould which shapes the photos to be mostly in grimy and urban locations and desaturated, which does match the bands genre. The next step would be to look out for locations in which the shoot can be done, and finally taking the band to the choosen location.
Crap bands Aiden. Crap.
