Potential Colour Schemes for a Pop Magazine

Most pop magazines seemed to be aimed at young girls from the age of ten to fourteen. Therefore, the magazine covers feature colours that would perhaps be more appealing to that audience.

Colours are either pinks and purples with something lighter such as white to brighten up the cover. Pink and purple are traditionally seen to be female colours, therefore, the use of these colours sends out the message that the magazine is aimed toward a female audience.

Bright colours are also used that are traditionally associated with energy. Green has implications of the outdoors and nature, therefore connoting activity and fun. Pale blues symbolise the sky and Summer, therefore automatically associating the colours with happiness. These types of colour appeal to a younger audience who are looking for an interesting magazine that appears energetic and fun from the cover and will therefore be like that inside.
