Preliminaries

Magazine:
I explored the option of print by creating a college magazine. This allowed me to experiment with different Print techniques using software such as Photoshop and Cameras. Our group chose to do the topic of drugs and alcohol. This allowed us the liberty of using colour and creative images that were relevant but still more vari-coloured based on the effects of certain intoxication; ergo we named the magazine “College Intoxicated”.

Film:
The task was to create a video 2 minutes long which opened with the use of Match on Action. The film also had to be continuous in editing. Our group decided to elaborate on another video we previously made called "Mafia", we named the video "Mafia II" using the Roman Numerals in similar style as "The God Father: Part II". Turning the images Black and White to portray a 1930's Gangster scene created the mise en scene of a gangster type film, which is also supported by the plot. The plot was a poker game with one character owing "Evana" money. After an accidental shooting, Evana steals the money and is chased with a weapon by the other character.
Mafia II:


Decision:
I chose to do film as my coursework as a result of the preliminaries. This is due to interest and my skills were better suited within film; also I enjoyed the task from start to finish.
