I have decided to look at the several different locations that I could use for the background of my front cover, it is a dance magazine and my main feature will be 'Jordan Brown' an upcoming dance artist who is getting ready to play her first festivals. One of my main thoughts was using the studio, as it would provide a blank background to symbolize Jordan's new phase in music, a new image and a blank start. However, just to be sure I looked at some possible locations:

This is quite an urban background and would relate to the genre of the magazine well as it is quite modern music.
I thought this background may work well as the windows look like the outside of a club which relates to the dance/club genre, although I wasn't too sure this message would come across as easily as that.
I thought this also looked like steps outside a club although I don't think it gets the message of a fresh start across well enough.
After looking at all these locations I decided on using the studio. That way I could perfect the lighting and control how I wanted this to look better, also the idea of Jordan getting ready to play festivals and starting a new point in her career made the fresh plain background seem appropriate.
