This is the script for our radio show:

(Parts of our radio show were improvised at the time of recording and are thus not in the script.)

MAIN STORY
Louis: Hello, the time is 11:00 am and this is your Radio Now news update. Police have launched an inquiry into a brutal attack on a 15 year old boy by a group of youths. The attack, which happened on Friday, left the victim in hospital with severe head injuries.

And in the studio we have Michelle O'Brian who is the Super Intendent of the Grater Manchester police and we're going to get her view on the events.

How much of a concern is teenage violence to the Grater Manchester police?

Michelle: It's a huge concern. Teenage involved crime has risen by 9% since last year so tackling it is a big issue for us.

Louis: How do you plan to solve these issues?

Michelle: Well an increased police presence on the streets is a solution to not only tackling the problem but also to make people feel more secure,

Louis: Are there any plans to target teenagers in the learning environment?

Michelle: Yes, we are going to continue with the Police in Schools initiative which we hope will continue giving teenagers the information they need to stay out of trouble.

Louis: Thank you for your time Super Intendent. And after this recent spate of reports on violent teenage crime we sent our reporter out into the field to answer some questions.

Grace: I’m here in Wigan town centre to ask your opinion on whether teenagers are becoming more violent or if the media is just giving teen’s bad press.

Grace: Well thats what they thought, And if you have any comments please email in at

COMIC BOOK STORY

Louis: A more light-hearted story now, a copy of the first comic to feature the caped hero Superman has been sold on the internet for 1 million dollars. The 1938 edition of Action Comic’s Number One, which originally sold for ten cents, was sold to a New York resident, Mr Chris P Bacon. We caught up with him and he had this to say.

Grace: Mr Bacon, how happy are you with your new comic book?

Voice: I love it man!

MOVIE STORY

Louis: And last week you may remember us reporting on this.

“And the cinema chain Odeon has decided against showing Tim burtons new film Alice in wonderland over disagreements on DVD release date times.”

We can now reveal that Odeon have reversed this decision and are going ahead with the screening. We spoke about the deal to cinema expert, Beverly Breary earlier on.

Bev: It’s all come good for Odeon in the end they’ve made friends with Disney and rumour has it there was money involved, they get to show the film it’s going to be a massive hit so well done Odeon, you stood your ground.

SPORT

Louis: That’s it for our main news headlines, now its over to Danny with the sport

Danny: Hello, I’m Danny with the latest sport headlines. David Beckham’s dream of playing in the world cup are officially over, the 34 year old was carried out on a stretcher in his game for AC milan against a rival Italian team. He is believed to be being flown to Finland on the hope of seeing a specialist to try and get the ligament on the mend.

And we’ve another story about Tiger Woods.

Well I think you should ask the listeners about it, if you have any views about this then you can email us on Studio@radionow.com

Louis: And that's it for the sport, now its over to Grace in Wigan Town Center for the weather.

Weather

Grace: It's been a wet start to the day today especially here in Wigan but it will brighten up later on and we may even see some sunshine. Tonight the rain will be back with heavy showers predicted overnight in the North West. And thats your weather update, now its back to the studio.

Ending

Louis: That’s all the texts and messages for now, we’ll try and read the rest out in our next bulletin when myself, Danny and Grace are back. The time is now 11:06.
