We decided to complete all 3 preliminary activities in order to decide which aspect of media we wanted to complete our coursework in. Therefore we made a film, a magazine cover and contents page, and a short radio clip.

Below is the film preliminary task, we decided to create a blind date effect, including the compulsary elements, a match on action and shot reverse shot, as well as remembering to not break the 180 degree rule.

Finally we completed the radio preliminary task. The brief stated we must include a jingle, a short conversation between the radio presenter and a guest, concluding with a short archive relating to the guest. We decided to include a Hollywood film star, and our archive was a short clip taken from an action film. Below is a video, containing the audio version of our preliminary task.

After much deliberation, we decided to complete our actual coursework task for radio.
We agreed after many attempts at rearranging the layout and style of our magazine front cover, that print was not the media aspect we wished to complete our coursework in.
Although we enjoyed making and editing our film, we found that the filming process was too time consuming in comparison to the radio recording process. However the skills we learned from the film editing process we plan to use when editing our radio material, for example we recorded our own applause clip and learned how to cut and insert it to our final piece.
