Using Photoshop

After selecting an image for the front cover, I decided to experiment with various effects to change the image using Photoshop. This was inspired by the "Mojo" magazine cover that I analysed in an earlier blog which used illustration on the cover, therefore creating a different effect compared to other covers I had seen of the same genre.

Here I used the threshold effect. This gave the image a sophisticated appearance, however the image was not entirely clear and the smaller images to the right, in full colour, did not suit the black and white look of the main image.

Here I used the hue and saturation effect. Although the colour change proved interesting, the image was not strong enough to be used as a front cover because the features of the model's face do not stand out because of the brightness of the image and the pale green combined with the white.
